MoutainWest RubyConf 2007 Videos
May 28th, 2007
The videos from the 2007 MountainWest RubyConf are available on CodeFreaks (thanks to Gregory, who’s post tipped me off.)
Here’s mine
It’s been a long time since I’ve watched myself on film or video. I watched just brief bit of my talk; I’m pleased that a) I can understand myself; b) I’m fairly animated; c) the presentation places the slides adjacent to the video if the speaker, so you can always see both.
The vids are very nicely done, and serious props go to ConFreaks for their time and effort in putting them together.
Also very nice is this:
Presenters retain full rights to the content of their presentations, and have released them under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license.
You’ll need a Flash player to watch them on the site.
I believe the videos will also be available in other formats, suitable for re-mixing and posting to YouTube.
The conference was outstanding, with a really solid line-up of talks, and I highly recommend people take the time to watch them.

Really, thanks, James.
Very personal mode of presentation. Zingy.
I had read the slides material before, but there is some wisdom in listening to the talk on the video, your Wise Ideas in API-think get better framed in the talk than in the slides.
Maybe I forget what the slides said, but this time it really hit me on the head.
Good to hear you had a good conference. Thanks for broadcasting it.

Ollie, thanks for kind words.
The conference was great, with a really good turn-out and strong speaker set. And thanks go to the ConFreak folks for the video arrangements.
